A Good Day For Butterflies

We had lots of different ones today. First thing, when I opened the stable door (well kitchen door, we haven't actually got a stable) a gorgeous peacock landed next to me. I didn't manage to get a shot though, even when it came back later on the buddleia. I captured these three though - a green-veined white, a red admiral and our elusive holly blue. It wasn't on the holly, I've been looking in the wrong place. Various other whites, our resident skipper and a meadow brown also flitted by.

Not such a good day for trains. Daughter#1 has gone home now, but there were lots of cancellations on various lines. She managed to get a train from Kingham, only 10 minutes late. She worked hard during the day having various video meetings. She also did a remote gym session first thing in our living room. She declined an invitation to join mrsfb for her Keep Fit class afterwards though.  None of the other 'keep fitters' commented on the Tim Minchin bag that mrsfb blatantly showed off at the class. I will blip it one quiet blip day soon.

It's July and still too hot, but many of you already know this. We tried the ventilated seats in the Kia yesterday and today. They give you a noticeably cold back.
