Bee Thyme

I took myself off to Watts Gallery for the afternoon, and sat in some welcoming shade to sketch the gallery (extra). It was then time for an ice cream consumed from another bench in the shade watching the bees working across some thyme.

One of the nice features of my little Olympus over my main Canon R6 camera is its pro-capture, or pre-burst recording, mode which starts capturing images before you press the shutter and records the last 20 or so raw images to card. I don’t use the mode that often as you end up with masses of images to review, but had a go today trying to catch insects in flight. I ended up with nearly 400 shots from around 20 shutter activations! Most went in the bin and I failed to get my in-flight shot, but I did like this one of a honey bee.
