The sparkle of a
summer morn makes my effort
all worth the while

Although I was awake at first light, I could hardly stir my bones to get dressed and out the door before 7. I chose McArthur Island Park for my jaunt. 

The marmots were in full force. They were everywhere chewing up the grass in all spaces. I'm hearing that there will be a quiet cull as the numbers continue to escalate. Young and old were posed for me along the river bank. 

I got a shot of the footbridge by the Butterfly Garden and a look across the river to the downtown. We're coming out of a long weekend. All seems rather subdued this morning. 

I will have lunch with former workmates today. I'm excited to catch up with these special people from my past.
