Early swim
MLaM and I started the day with an early swim in the Blackwater. Swimming in the calm water but against the tide we needed to put some effort in but it was well worth it. A beautiful start to the day.
Then I went to the library to join in with the Knit and Stitch group. £1,000 raised for Farleigh Hospice with the sale of knitted animals at Colchester Zoo. So kind of the ladies to organise it. The next project is going to make items for display at a local vilkage gardening society 100 year centenary. I have a stitch project in mind, so will need to get a wiggle on to finish it in time. Meanwhile the knitters brought along lots of bees to sell ... see extra
A very hot day, and I had arranged to meet up with B for lunch in town. We enjoyed a sandwich but chose to move on to the Quay for a cold drink outside the Queen's Head.
I cycled to MAC and did a sketch of an old oak tree. On reflection, I would have been better to use charcoal. Several folk joined in with a show and tell; I enjoyed listening in but was pleased not to have to either show or tell about my art work.
