Adams Lake State Park

Wednesday
This morning, I took Roger along to look at the dress I was leaning towards for Laura’s wedding - having looked at the photos I had taken yesterday, I decided one, although a lovely dress, didnt really do much for me, colour wise. I had also decided to check if they had a larger size, as I could see it was pulling a bit in the back. They did have the larger size, and there was a much more friendly and helpful assistant on duty today. So the overall consensus was that the bigger size was better (although I hated to admit I needed it!). So I went ahead and bought it. So that’s another thing checked off! You’ll have to wait until September to see it!
It was a beautiful day, so with that out of the way, we felt we had to make the most of it, so we loaded up the kayaks and drove east to a small state park we hadn’t visited before, Adams Lake State Park in Adams County. The lake is quite small, and gradually being taken over by American Lotus flowers, and much to my surprise, some of them near the waters edge were flowering - I was thinking it was more the end of the month you would expect to see them bloom. We were the only people on the water, but there were a number of children at the playground, and several people walking the paved trail alongside the lake, which is also a storybook trail, with boards at intervals telling a story. Having finished our paddle, I walked along there a little way to take photos - see extra. The bird in my collage is an eastern Bluebird. On our way back home we stopped at a UDF, United Dairy Farmers, for an ice cream. - they are an interesting mix of very good ice cream and a gas station/ general store, very common throughout this part of the state at any rate!
