White Letter Hair Streak

A dry day again today and I was able to dry a wash-load outside - hurrah!

There was just a bit of paperwork to deal with today - nothing onerous! Weirdly we have had no post all week, in fact I have not even seen a post vehicle or person on the street at all. My son is awaiting a piece of mail - important things he has sent here, I think because where he lives has a communal entrance.

Later I had the usual walk for exercise - through the Arboretum, along to the top of the hill and then down through town, browsing in shops for some ideas to put on my birthday wish-list. I don't really want "stuff" as we have too much already. One day we may need to downsize and it could be a mammoth task!

I took this photo in the garden at the top of the Arboretum again, near where I took yesterday's. Google suggests that this is a Green Hairstreak*. I'd have liked to see it with its wings open but it only settled for a short while.

Tomorrow I must try to get something a bit different as it will be an anniversary Blip for me I think! I'm also meeting up with an old school-friend I haven't seen in over 40 - odd years tomorrow...

* Turns out Google image search doesn't always get it right. This is in fact a White Letter Hairstreak! Brian just showed me it on the UK Butterflies website!
