Baby chick
I had a long walk with Xena this morning and there were so many butterflies about today, they too are probably pleased that the heatwave is over! I came home and made another batch of granola, Gavin much prefers it to the shop bought one so I like to make it for him.
After my walk I went back to Guildford as I wanted to buy something with some vouchers that I was given. I was given them months ago and thought I had better use them before they expired.
Back home again, I was vacuuming the kitchen floor when I heard a squeaking noise which I assumed was coming from the wheels of the vacuum cleaner. Then I realised it was the sound of a bird chirping, so I turned off the vacuum cleaner and looked for the bird - I found the tiniest little fledgling under the kitchen table, making a big noise for such a tiny bird! I think it is a baby blue tit. I finally managed to get it out the house and placed it under a bush in the garden - I tried to give it water and food but I suppose I needed a dropper for that to work as it was too little to feed itself. I kept going to check on it and it kept hopping/flying back to the house. I could hear adult blue tits near it so I am hoping it's mother will find it and feed it.
We have a busy weekend coming up, it looks cooler and a maybe bit rainy.
