A Morning Dip

I was looking for a photo in the garden this morning and spotted this robin at the edge of the pond (which is very low with the lack of rain) looking to go in for a dip, but too wary of me to do so. I walked into town mid morning to go to a good talk at the library about the fall of the Berlin Wall. It was actually a bit broader than that, with the speaker talking about how he got in to photojournalism (largely by accident). It was interesting to hear about how in the light of general unrest in Eastern Europe, on the day in question it was simply a mistake by a Soviet spokesman re a press release which led to people thinking they could cross before any arrangements had been put in place. The speaker had gone to East Germany to cover a 'bin strike' and was in the right place at the right time. He said it was the most joyous event he'd ever covered. I suspect the speaker might be back in the future to tell us a few more tales. More tennis watching this afternoon, nothing much exciting, but now watching Jack Draper in the third set, fighting back after losing the first two sets to Cilic. I forgot to mention that my new and old passports have now arrived - a very quick process and with good communication. I hadn't realised you no longer get the unexpired few months on your old passport added to the new one, I'd have left it a few more months if I'd known.
