Buzzing...
While fifteen thousand or so other people made their way into the annual RHS flower festival at Hampton Court, I wandered round like a loon taking snaps of all the insects which were busy gorging themselves on the flowering borders.
The main blip may not be the best shot, but it was the most amazing thing I saw. As its name suggests, the hummingbird hawkmoth is a blur of motion as it makes its way from flower to flower, sticking its impressive proboscis in for a drink. I've never seen one before and only had time to capture a few frames before it disappeared from sight.
The extra hoverfly gets in because it was probably the best shot of the day.
