DAY 3
Another fine morning here apart from a very brisk sea breeze, Too strong for the boys to fly their model planes, so armed with coffee they were entertained by the low flying jets above the camp site. K and I had a lovely time reading, discussions on many subjects and then some crafting; me with crochet and K inserting ears into Luna (felt rabbit's) head, its a tricky business!
Later when we were visiting the South Stack RSPB Visitor Centre, a nasty little weather front rolled in which sent us scurrying into the shop and cafe. I spied and bought Angela Harding's new book 'Still Waters & Wild Waves' A Printmaker's journey. It looks beautiful and I can't wait to start it.
Back to the caravan to put more layers on then an adventurous walk over heathland to the coast path where the cliff views were majestic. The Skylarks were much in evidence and singing their little heads off, whilst an adder slid away into grass under our feet.
As has happened most evenings here the wind has died down a bit and a hazy sun broke through, sufficient to let us eat outside again. A joint effort made by K and I. K's starter: left over melted Feta topped with more of K's homegrown beetroot parcelled up in pieces of her homegrown baby gem Lettuce. Main by me: chicken curry for D and us and a prawn one for K with flatbreads and plain yoghurt. Pudding by K: her version of the Scottish Cranachan which she made with layers of toasted pinhead oatmeal, crushed raspberries, cashew nut cream with a dash (generous) of Amaretto in, topped off with a few more raspberries and toasted hazelnuts. Very yummy.
Mr HB's back pain is easing and he thanks you all for your kind sympathy.
My Collage: on our walk, the cliffs, the Holyhead mountain, the Adder, a cheeky Chough at the Visitor Centre and the book.
Too tired to Blip last night, so here it is this morning.
