Top bombing sir!

Local kids were leaping off the Dom Luís I Bridge into the Douro. We had the perfect view sat in a bar sipping sangria.

Too many photos to pick from today, but this one stood out – definitely the most unexpected part of the day, not that the rest was dull... the hills of Porto are anything but ordinary. My calves were on fire.

We took the funicular to avoid hiking back up, only to walk back down again... naturally, that meant we climbed back up once more. Final step count: 17,630. My little legs filed an official complaint.

Had a cracking lunch at an all-vegan buffet (obviously). I went back for seconds – bit greedy, but everything was so light and fresh. Endless salads, tofu, beans, crunchy things but happily away. Gorgeous.

Also had my maiden voyage with the Uber app – very smooth. Well, until driver number two, who drove like he was auditioning for Formula 1. We got out and honestly considered kissing the ground. Still here to tell the tale, though.

Tomorrow's plan: staying local. Got laundry to do, sun to catch, and a beach that needs my undivided attention.
