A hosta in the shade.
My hostas this year, as I’ve already mentioned.have not been eaten by any slugs or snails, so do not look like patterned lace, as they normally do at this time of year.
I do not like slug pellets as they poison the birds who eat the resulting dead offenders.
I haven’t seen a single one, yet. If we get some regular rain they may reappear. Everything is so dry in the garden right now..
I’ve enjoyed myself this morning deadheading the roses and pulling up one or two weeds. The ones that come straight out, and not the ones which need a lot of tugging! (Stephen had his annual check up at the opticians.)
I’m making sure I take care of my back.
It was a bright breezy warm morning, with that clear bright light making all the colours glow. I had a mug of tea when I called a halt to my task. Have to watch my limitations so nothing is strained!
We are at this present moment sitting in the summerhouse having some lunch.
I took this photo of one of the hostas in the dappled shade in the bottom border by the patio window.
It looked so lovely.
July 4th today, and some Americans are flying their flags upside down in protest at multiple things which the present incumbent dictator, has been doing.
None the least because his “Big Ugly Bill” as protestors call it, was passed by 218 votes to 214
Out here in the garden it is another world altogether, one which I like very much.
Hope everyone will have a good weekend.
