Evening in the garden. 20:35.
Bright and breezy day.
I got up early this morning around 7:15am and laid out my Pilates mat by the patio window.
I have a booklet of exercises for Back Pain which was given to me 3 years ago when I was referred by the GP for Physio, at the (then) Cottage Hospital. The young Physio was excellent and I’ve found the book so helpful as it also offers advice on different conditions which can cause it.
Mine, as I know, is some osteoporosis at the base of my spine. (In my case due to the aging process!)
But these exercises do help when regularly practised.
Some of the moves are the same as the ones I had from the Physios for before and after my hip ops.
After doing my exercises carefully, and rolled up my mat, then had breakfast, it was already feeling less tense.
Once I had finished my breakfast I enjoyed a trip to the hairdressers for a trim, and a coffee, which is a relaxing experience in itself! I’ve been going there for years. This was followed by a lovely get together with four friends ( two of whom are neighbours) at the Quinto Lounge in Sutton. None of them had been before and they all really enjoyed it, and suggested we meet there again next time,
Stephen dropped two of us off, and as he was going to the tip later in the afternoon came and picked us up again. I wasn’t quite confident enough to get the bus this time having had this bit of a hiccup with my back at the start of the week.
Today it has improved enough for me to walk to the hair salon from the car park, and this afternoon to walk to where Stephen had parked the car to pick us up, All without a crutch.
( I just write about these little milestones as a documentation on Blip. They’ve been so good to look back on, and are an encouragement to keep going).
I’ve had a walk up the garden after tea, and took this photo of the perennial pea plant which comes up every year, even if it is surrounded by weeds and grass! (Like it was this Spring) I suddenly think maybe it won’t grow this time, then it starts to appear bit by bit!
I can forget to water it and it still produces these lovely flowers.
Much cooler this evening now, and the sky is an absolutely clear pale blue. I’ll add an extra of the sky last night at 22:35. I took the photo from the back bedroom window.
