Gently down the stream

Crying for his Mammy

I had very little time for my camera walk this morning, so I decided on a quick scoot round the reserve forgetting, of course, that the park gate into it is closed at the moment. (Why, I've no idea).  That meant a rather longer walk to the Durngate entrance to get in and an equally longer walk to get home.  I wasn't amused and apart from a quick visit to see how the dragons were down at the pond I spent most of my time checking up on the babies in the park.  That, of course, meant the moorhens mostly and I was amused to see just how many moorhen chicks are still about, some tiny like the one in extras hiding behind forgetmenot flowers and this one - full size, but still in baby livery and crying desperately for his Mammy.

The rest of the day's been super-busy domestically and with neighbours: re-delivering wrongy marked post, watering next door's hanging basket and pots while she's on hols and being the recipient of another neighbour's home grown veg.  Lucky me!  I haven't, though, done the gardening I meant to, telling myself the ground is just too hard (which is true but also a terrible cop-out).

And that's enough from me ;))  Have a happy evening  xx

PS: I think we might just get a tiny bit of rain tomorrow, though no more than midway on the 'pigs might fly' scale..
