Green Veined White (piers napi)

Macro with a long telephoto. I've been trying to take a photo of one in the garden for the last week but it didn't stay still for long enough on any of the occasions I tried.

Instead I was walking around the deer fields and saw it settle on this stalk of grass. With the megapixels available to me with modern cameras, you can still get a reasonable image using the long lens. Thankfully the Nikon 18-600 mm has a reasonably good minimum focal distance.
