Teasel

Very overcast and wet, some of the showers very heavy.
Rather a wet afternoon walk.
The community garden has several teasels growing in it.
I love the structure of them and I do like to find out the folklore behind our wild flowers.
In UK folklore, teasels were believed to have healing properties, particularly due to the water that collects in their leaf bases. This water was believed to possess rejuvenating and spiritual powers. Additionally, teasels were thought to have medicinal properties, with the water used to soothe sore eyes, improve complexion, and treat warts. The dried flower heads were also used in the textile industry to "tease" or raise the nap on cloth.
