Under the Table

With 16+ hours of sunshine and 30°C, the unusually dry and hot year continues. We might get a short break in this pattern early next week, but then the forecast threatens with the next heatwave and temperatures like last week’s. 

I only worked for a few hours today, and then continued with a private project. My mother will be 88 in September, and I want to give her some of her memories back, as a book with pictures and stories from her life. I’ll write some parts of it myself, but I also sent out letters and emails to her former friends and colleagues, asking for stories and memories. 

This kept me busy for the afternoon. I had taken my laptop downstairs, to write in the cooler living room. At some point I discovered Rani on the chair next to mine - hidden under the table, but keeping me company.
