Exactly 70,000 Miles

Our mission to deliver the Toronto family to Edinburgh Airport at 6am was safely achieved: we now know that they had a good flight and we had a good drive back to Newcastle. By chance as I put the car in the drive at home I realised that it had just clocked up exactly 70,000 miles so I thought I'd blip this "milestone". You'll realise that we don't do a big mileage as it's almost exactly 11 years old (see one of my early blips here).

In advance of tomorrow's hosted Silly Saturday challenge (in memory of course of Admirer) I thought I'd point out a few silly facts here:
1) It seems silly that they make so many car surfaces so attractive to dust - I did try to clean the dust away but it seems to recur instantly!
2) It seems silly to calibrate the speedometer up to 160 mph when I'm sure the car's top speed must be no more than 100 mph (and no, I've never been silly enough to test it out even to 100!)
3) Even though I replaced my last car at 11 years old, I'd be silly to replace this one yet. At the time I bought it new, Vauxhall were giving a "Lifetime" warranty (up to 100,000 miles) if it stayed with the first owner and was serviced according to the schedule. So I still have 30,000 miles of warranty to go!

Laurie54 is kindly hosting Silly Saturday tomorrow, so please give her some chuckles by posting something silly for her. The tags are SilSJuly2025 and/or SilS457.
