Life's Little Moments

Celebrate

Three things to celebrate today, and how better than with a brilliantly bedazzled male ruby-throated hummingbird.

Today we celebrate our independence as a nation.  Although I feel that we are in a bit of a sorry state right now, with divisions running deep, it is still a day to acknowledge.

And four years ago on this day, in a shelter in south Texas, a brindle dog was born, one of a litter of 9.  He eventually moved with his siblings to NJ and was put up for rescue.  We adopted him 4 months later.  Happy birthday, my beautiful boy!

Finally, today marks my 5,110th blip, making it 14 years that I have been hanging out here.  I've not missed a day although I am officially giving myself permission to miss a day now and then if I truly don't have anything to say or show (right, can you imagine - me with nothing to say?). All of you who've been on Blip for any length of time already know what a special community this is.  I have made wonderful lifetime friendships here, shared so many adventures in the real world with some of those friends, celebrated, mourned, laughed, wept.  In fact, in 48 hours I will be with one of my cherished blip friends in Brazil!  So thank you to those who keep this community up and running and to all who have touched my life along the way.

xoxo
Debbi
