4th July

This morning I read my book.  The others made a beautiful cake with cream cheese and fresh fruit on it! A slab cake cut into pieces.  Then at three we were off to the block party. There was a taco/ burrito bar and lots of things you could add.  I’m particularly enjoying all the avocados we are having here.  They are so good! 

So many different deserts on the two long dessert tables too!  

There are lots of youngsters on the block nowadays and they all had games etc to play.  Water filled balloons were enjoyed! They burst very easily! 

Then the highlight of the day the egg throwing game! Above.  They start in the road and move gradually back to either side.  You are eliminated if you drop the egg(and covered with egg as these are fresh eggs! ) then the few people left get further apart throwing the along the road rather than across.  It’s a longstanding tradition! 

We left around 7:00 and went back out as it was getting dark.  This time we walked to Nob hill and watched fireworks! Fantastic! Time to sleep! Xxxxx
