Verity

Another ‘Leeds Old and New’ assemblage from my walk back to the station.

I must admit I had never previously been curious to discover who or what Hedley Verity was, but now I know: a Leeds, Yorkshire and England cricketer of the 1930s, he played in the infamous Bodyline tour and was killed in action in Italy in 1943.
