Saturday 5th July, 2025... parkrunday...

This is Michelle... Today she completed for 250th parkrun... Michelle is an inspiration... 12 months ago to the day, her husband Scott aged 48 went to bed, fell asleep and never woke up again... He wasn't unhealthy or sick, so it came as quite a shock... Michelle and their daughter have survived a challenging 12 months... Michelle had to learn, how to drive, mow the lawn, cut the edges, become a handywoman about the house... She's done a marvellous job, yes there's been lots of tough days, more than she probably lets on to the family and friends around her but she's kept going at parkrun because that's what they did on Saturday mornings... I chose to finish token support at Sandgate parkrun today so I could be at the finish line for Michelle... We cheered her on, she finished and then she cried... I was there to hug her and congratulate her on 250th parkrun and to tell her that Scott would be awfully impressed... I then handed her over to family so I could continue doing my role...
