The story continues...
I was walking into the village to get the 9.30 bus into Belfast when I noticed some developments taking place at the bonfire, so I stopped to take photographs. Being seen taking photographs I was approached, but the approach was friendly. I was told that they were just tidying up the bonfire site, at which point my bus arrived.
Here the image is certainly strengthened by the strong red colour, which immediately draws the eye. Notice the red sign and also two red pallets at the top of the bonfire - creating a line so to speak. I know that I am drawn to monochrome, but there is much to learn about colour and how to use it within the frame. This could certainly form the basis of a future project.
My original purpose was to get photographs in Belfast, I had decided to look for curious features to capture and indeed I did, but I think I will keep these for a future blog. For me the whole point in taking photographs is to help tell a story, not just to take subjects for the sake of it.
No doubt there will be more images of this site as it develops.
