The Other Side Of The Tor

We were at Sophie’s school by 9 o’clock for the annual Sports Day. Sophie was pleased to have been elected Team Captain this morning and sent me the selfie, all kitted up and raring  to go, in extras. 

As always, it was a well organised and fun affair with all the students in the year group taking part in a round robin of mini track and field events. This year they also played various team games in the afternoon but visitors weren’t invited to that.

Afterwards we drove over to Middlewick Farm, up a back lane behind the Tor, which has diversified to run a Farm Shop and cafe as well as luxury holiday cottages and a spar.

We had a walk through the fields and footpaths that lead up to the other side of The Tor to the usual route, where I made this photo.

We walked back to the cafe for a very pleasant lunch of smoked mackerel salad.

The afternoon was taken up with tennis and cricket on the tele.
