Bright and Beautiful

Droopy

Gazinnia found at the supermarket.

I had lots of plans in my head of what I might do today, but slept badly, got up late, and went shopping late by which time half the day had gone...

Anyway, bought  some more compost (3 bags for £10 at Sainsburys)  and this Gazinnia or Zinnia which was drooping.

As I got home, rain started pouring down - for all of 5 minutes, so I got some lunch and then decided to do a bit in the garden.

I've tidied up and cleaned some of the slabs outside the back door yet again, moved a few pots around.

I also took all the wildflowers out, as they were dying off and one of them was a big thistle really, pretty though they were to start with.  Instead I've got a lavender in a big pot along with the white geranium.  The sweet peas have sadly almost gone too.  Not sure what I'll put there next.

And I'm very sad that my clemetis has died, I think due to the extreme heat, even though its roots were covered up

From the front of the house I've removed my trough and big tub as neither had any flowers and because of the wretched ground bees, I don't want anything there at the moment til I decide what to do out there.

I've spread all the compost from those two under the rock rose cistus's as the ground is very bare there (and hoping there are no future wasps or bees in it!  Dropped the pots a few times to make sure nothing was hiding in them...

What do I do with the extra, now they've finished flowering?

And second extra in a minute is I think some fungus on my bird table which I've moved today.

Charlie has loved me being in the back garden today too!

Off to roast some salmon for dinner now :)
