His face says it all

Eric and Kay came over today. We had planned to go in search of wild flowers but it was very windy and rain was forecast, so we had coffee here instead.

Then we walked to The Crown for lunch. Eric can eat anything and does not put on weight. He downed a (very) large portion of mince and vegetable pie with chips and peas, but still had space for syrup sponge and custard!

We came back here for coffee. All the while we chatted about anything and everything.

I was expecting to be called to go to look after Jenny in Wall this afternoon because Dennis was being transferred to Hexham General and Kate wanted to visit him there.

In the event he was not transferred. Liz went to sit with Jenny while Kate went to Newcastle. She is worried that he is dehydrated and malnourished. At home, she or a carer helps him to drink and feed.

I have finished the photo processing and find that I have definitely missed one of my year. Not only is he a friend of mine, but he is a Knight of the Realm. We have two! There is nothing I can do unless I go to visit him and take my camera. I have a lovely photo of his wife….

I had a panic tonight. The sonic watchman in the oil tank was flashing. I bought oil in June and have used hardly any. Shock horror. It was raining to I persuaded myself not to go outside with a stick and climb up to check.

Instead, I unplugged the watch man and plugged it in again. After a few minutes, it showed that there is plenty of oil…….but is it correct?!

PS Nearly forgot to say, Kay brought a blouse for me to try. She bought her size in M&S and did not try it on. It was much too big. It fits me perfectly!
