To the Herdwick Sheep, Penrith Station

We’re back in our Cumbrian home for a couple of weeks. What delight it is to be back even though the welcoming weather was dull and damp. Quite a change to the oppressive heat in Kent. Refreshing. At least for now!

A real effort has been made with Penrith station. Displays, like this one, really brighten up the place on both platforms.

The journey worked well and mostly on time. The LNW train from Euston to Crewe was a zoo as the previous train had been cancelled. We managed to get seats but people were littered all over the place. For us it was a pleasant journey.

It was a surprise to find the train from Crewe to Penrith very quiet in comparison. We caught the bus to Keswick then picked up the car from where we left it two weeks ago. Our friends Jane and Adam have been keeping an eye on it. They didn’t clean it thought! It was covered in leaves and seed pods.

It was a journey of coincidences! On Victoria station we bumped into the son in law of our friend Rosemary who was with us in Shetland. Then at Penrith Blipper Nick T and Jess had formed a welcoming committee. Well, no, not really they were there to see off Nick’s daughter - back down to Barming, near where we live.

Clickychick is organising a blip meet on 10th July to mark our moving to the Lakes. See here for the details. Thank you Clickychick: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3387914539474356220
