Rhoda at the Riverside House Hotel

For years now we've been meaning to visit the Riverside House Hotel in Ashford in the Water.
Today Janets mum Rhoda came over, so off we all went for lunch.
It's a really wonderful hotel, that oozes quality and with 3 couses coming in at about £16.00 excellent value for cooking of this standard.
I had pea and ham risotto to start, followed by hake in breadcrumbs which was far removed from findus style. This was accompanied by delicious creamy and buttery mashed potatoes and dessert was a trio of ice creams with fudge sauce and wild berries.
All very delicious and Rhoda thought it was brilliant and wants to go again, even though you wouldn't realise it from this picture!
It was great to see Vinho Verde on the wine list as on a warm day what could be nicer for an afternoon drink, not to alcoholic either so you can still get some work done... Which was lucky as when we got back I had a phone call from Radio Derby who wanted to speak to me on air about the royal pictures and the start of the new series of the Great British BakeOff, something that as I had been drinking Vinho Verde I was more than happy to contribute too.
