The ventilation system servicer was due this afternoon, so I'd allocated this morning to creating access to the inlets and outlets around the house, and emptying the small cupboard with the machine in, where I also store spare bedding. I was just gearing up for tidying away the cluttered residue of half-done jobs, laziness, part-unpacked bags, more laziness, things I've moved for the joiner in preparation for the work he'll be doing in the house in May, June, July, August..., when the doorbell rang.
It seems the ventilation system servicer was due this morning.
He was very surprised that I'd changed the filters two weeks ago, when the system told me they needed changing. He said that in lots of places where he goes to service systems, the occupants don't know they've even got a ventilation system let alone where it is or how it works.
Anyway, mine is serviced and the house is still a tip.
This was my entire crop of peas, all eaten, including the ones I should maybe have kept for planting next year.
