The Good...
..the Bad and the Ugly!
Today was transplanting day. Shawn and one of his workers spent the morning transplanting what I already have growing out there in the garden to better locations and then planting some more new plants to start filling in gaps and providing backdrops along the fences and carport. The work is not finished.
There are more plants to come and then mulch and once things start to bloom, it will be really lovely. It already looks ever so much better than it did. Shawn has brought order to chaos and the garden finally looks cared for. That would be the "Good".
The process, however, has its downside too. The "Bad" would be the loss of a lot of my old flowering perennials which I do hope will be replaced. At the moment, the garden is mostly green and I yearn for some colour!
And then there is the severe cutting back of vines and old beaten down shrubs..a sad sight, but a temporary one, as they will grow back or be replaced! But in the meantime, it has meant losing some of the lushness I really liked and it has also exposed some pretty unsightly things....like a broken fence on the deck that was nicely camouflaged by an overly aggressive honeysuckle vine! THAT would be the "Ugly"! (extras)
It was another really hot day and tomorrow promises to be the same. Heat waves, wildfires and horrible flash floods...is there anyone who still doesn't believe in climate change?
