Bridge Over Troubled Water

Very changeable weather conditions this morning, so only a short walk around town before grabbing a coffee. Now that New Road Common is open again we had a walk through to see how it was recovering from all the flood defence works. Still some temporary wooden fences around the grassed areas, but they are slowly turning green (as opposed to “churned up and muddy”) again.
Took this shot looking back towards Taco Bridge. A fair bit of water coming down the river after all the rain we’ve had recently. Doesn’t look too dissimilar to the Hangar Straight at Silverstone during parts of the British Grand Prix this afternoon! An interesting race - not sure if the McLaren finishing order is a true representation of their respective skills/pace, so I’ll just say “Chapeau” to Nico Hulkenberg for finally achieving a podium finish after 239 race starts.
Time to catch up on the Tour de France now…
