Tour de France

Today's the day ...................... for a happy place

It's that time of year again, when we can watch those crazy brave cyclists cover all those kilometres, the length and breadth of France, in that iconic race - Le Tour de France.

Of course, we can do it from the comfort of an armchair in front of the television, with a glass of wine or other beverage, without expending any energy whatsoever.  We get to see the beautiful scenery of France - and experience some very exciting moments that will go down in cycling history.  It has become somewhat of a tradition in this house to devote ourselves to following Le Tour - and a most enjoyable one.

But all this will come to an end after this year's Tour - unless we pay out a considerable monthly sum to subscribe to a particular television channel.  It goes against the grain in a big way - not least because we will lose the team of commentators that have become part of the enjoyment.

It all seems to come down to money in the end .....................?
