Islands in a much larger stream

It's been raining almost all day so I had a very lazy time of it, doing a lot of reading and yet more sorting of photographs from Holz.  Thanks to work, and now weather, I still haven't run Fidra's new brake disc in, after all that effort last week to get it done.

I was pleased to see this ladybird on the poppy stems earlier.  I've not had one in the garden for years.  I had a good look but couldn't see any others, so I'm presuming it had arrived from elsewhere.  Assuming of course it's a girl ladybird, I shan't complain if it sets about laying for a mass hatching; it has the whole garden at its disposal.

I also spent an hour and a half on the phone with Friend in Need, who had a hundred things to talk about and I hardly got a word in edgeways.
