NO ENTRY

It's the no entry sign hollyhocks again. Today wasn't so sunny, in fact we had rain, but I caught them in some nice light at one point.

I've ended up doing work this weekend which wasn't planned, but everything was okay in the end - not that there was a problem with my code, but that doesn't stop me getting sucked into things.

I did do some upgraded to some of the IT club computers. I've three Mac Minis and someone's laptop. They've not been used in anger so I've upgraded them from Debian Linux 12 to version 13. Version 13, codename Trixie is currently release candidate 2 status, and will become the official stable version in the next couples of months - so by the time these computers are used in September, they will be already fully upgraded.

Installing and upgrading Linux such as a modern Debian distribution is very easy these days and  everything went quickly and seamlessly without a problem. I run my own repository proxy and cache, so once one computer has downloaded what it needs for the upgrade all the rest use the local cache rather than downloading the same from the Internet - which makes the process a lot quicker - especially as we have a rubbish Internet connection.
