The nicest grave

The Taj Mahal: quite a nice move Shah Jahan!

So, started this blipfoto with India! <br />
As some of you might know I am spending 3 weeks travelling around Rajasthan with my dad and sister.

We arrived in Agra today. After settling at our nice B&B, we went to see the main attraction of the city : the Taj Mahal!

It was made by the emperor Shah Jahan  as a mausoleum for his favourite wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died giving birth. The monument took 20 000 workers and over 22 years to be finished!

It was beautiful: the symmetry, the perfect whiteness of the building. Really impressive. But we were a bit disappointed by the inside: it was dark and pretty much empty except for the grave. (which makes sense in a way for a mausoleum...).

We spent 2 hours taking pictures of the place which was really cute. We even saw parrots!

Then we went to see a show about the story of the two lovers. It was a bit cheesy but the costumes and the dances were beautiful so we had a good time.

Finally we had butter chicken, lentils and butter naan for diner which was also really good. India is actually a great place to eat!
