New shoots
The narcissi are popping up in the flower beds, and I can actually see them now that I've weeded. It is heartening to see fresh growth, knowing that there is much more to come, all over the property in the next few weeks.
It has been a very quiet day Chez M&B. I woke feeling a bit lousy, so I postponed gardening at K's until later in the week.
So instead, I enjoyed watching the overnight matches from Wimbledon. I find it odd to see the courts so empty: there are no line judges any more. How do wannabe umpires get experience of big matches if not by line-judging?
Then I moved onto the replay of Day 2 of the Tour de France. I watch it for the amazing countryside, the spectacular chateaux and abbeys, and the crashes. I wasn't disappointed: all three featured.
After exhausting myself with all that sport I snoozed for a couple of hours, and woke up delighted to find I had enough energy to go for a walk with Bean. Phew. Whatever ails me seems to be waning already, but I have a feeling there will be a long cosy evening on the sofa, followed by a good sleep...
