Day
One of those days where the weather forecast was threatening downpours and thunderstorms, so I chose not to do a long walk.
I headed up to Ilkley on the train and braved the short loop up to the Tarn and then across to White Wells. There were a few showers but nothing too bad.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared one of the White Wells flags here, and I must admit I had to check on this one, but it was apparently the national day of Malawi. It’s great that they take the time and effort to research these things, and they must have a phenomenal stock of flags.
There were a few butterflies about: Ringlet, Small White, Green-veined White, Small Skipper, Meadow Brown and Red Admiral.
I pottered around town for a bit and picked up a couple of books and records and thankfully the heavy downpours only arrived when I was safely back home.
