Heavy Metal

With a theme of 'Metal' for Mono Monday it was very tempting to do something along the railway; one of the engines or even something with the tracks, but I thought I'd do something else.

We bought this metal bird mobile at Waterperry Gardens in Oxfordshire a long time ago; I think probably about ten years or more.  When we bought it, it had been presented to look old and rusty but in reality, it was carefully chosen coloured metal covered with a coat of hard lacquer.  It's been out in the garden ever since so the lacquer has long since worn away and the bird has gained its own patina of rust so, while perhaps not as shiny as when new, it still has a good rusty coloured look to it.  Of course, you'll have to take my word for that; it is Mono Monday, after all!
