Derwent and Fells from Broughton High Bridge
A leisurely start to the day while we were waiting for a shopping delivery.
Then into Cockermouth, walking in from the cemetery. The purpose was for a coffee and to visit estate agents to make sure we were on their books.
Good coffee at an excellent bookshop called The New Bookshop. We could have brought many wonderful volumes. The estate agent was very helpful, providing some possibilities theta Rightmove had not come up with.
We ambled around the town for a while, casing the joint, up past the hospital and leisure centre then back to the care and Aldi’s for many nuts.
We had a viewing in Little Broughton at 5.30 so went for a stroll around Great and Little Broughton, again to case the joint. We turned up early to see the house not expecting anyone to be there. The seller was living with her parents almost next door so we did the viewing there and then.
It was a lot of house for the money, plenty of space and well equipped. A self build. However, it wasn’t for us as its location was not what we want, it lacked a garage, had a plot beyond the garden fence that was ripe to build a house.
We keep looking…
