Look Out

Backblip - Tobermory

After our first breakfast aboard the anchor is raised and we travel from Loch Na Droma Buidhe across the Sound of Mull to anchor off Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.. Our captain is looking at the weather outlook and today is not the day to cross The Minch, although he wants to move tomorrow if we’re to have any chance of reaching St Kilda.

Lunch (it’s becoming clear K is a fantastic cook) and then all aboard the tender to reach Tobermory and explore the village and walk to the Rubha Nan Gall lighthouse.

This evening the captain explains that to stand a good chance of getting across to the Outer Hebrides the anchor will be raised so he can set off at 5am tomorrow in advance of the worst of the weather. No need to set the alarm, my cabin is next to the anchor.
