Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

2025 Thursday — Celebration Preparation

After our evening meal we drove thru this little town to capture the pre holiday look.

This place has become a city of chairs; anticipation is its middle name. There’s considerably more cars and people and puppy dogs here than can be imagined.

This little piece of geography nestled below the freeway, hugging the shoreline, is about to explode in patriotism. Red, white, and blue can be seen in every direction and a medley of every patriotic song that can be hummed will be the theme song.

July 4th morning begins at the pier as sand sculptures are created at dawn. At 10:00 a.m. the holiday parade will begin rolling north with a roar of cheers that won’t be silenced for several hours. Then the afternoon beach is populated with people and picnics and parties.

Sundown brings a spectacular fireworks show launched at the pier. The finale is watching the maps on our cellphones turn red at the north and south ends of this magical little piece of wonder.

What many of us know is that God has blessed America and California’s Central Coast is part of the evidence.

From Cayucos,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!!

P.S. This afternoon at 2:00, I was at Ruth’s home in Cambria for my 8th piano lesson (normally my lesson is on Friday at 2:00).
