Lots of pots
The plant in the nearest one is called Isotoma. Those nice mauve/blue stars have just opened up, having been little rolled up umbrellas for a while. Behind are mainly lobelia, verbena (pink), tobacco. I think maybe I’ve done too many pots - as it means watering every day. There’s about 60 all told, including the tomatoes. I’ve run out of water-butt water, and am having to use water from the tap. If heatwaves are the present and the future, I need to be a bit more drought savvy and have less pots of colourful annuals.
I went over to north Bristol for counselling, doing two errands en route. First class stamps from the post office - a book of 8 - cost £13.60.
Then I went to IKEA - not something I can face very often. I couldn’t find what I wanted - but I did get two very lovely houseplants for £4.25 altogether. Isn’t that weird?
In the early evening I took Portia to the vet for her booster and annual check up. We saw her favourite vet, with whom she will just about co-operate. Who said she’s doing very well for 15, and she has no concerns. We’ve moved away from spot on for fleas, and back to tablets. Eleanor said she thinks spot on will be withdrawn, as it’s harmful to birds, insects, any creatures the cat or its fur goes near for days after the application. I hadn’t realised. So we’ll move to the tablets. Now I know about Lik e lix I can just about get tablets down her, on a good day…
