Crosby

Found out that there is a station called Sandhills about a 15 minute walk from the Titanic Hotel so after getting ready we walked to it.  It's run by Merseyside Rail and goes as far as Southampton.  Bought a ticket at the station and its a short 11 minute journey so the ticket price was only £2.95 what with my senior railcard and Ben a child fare.  They run quite frequently too.

We arrived in Crosby and needed breakfast first, a light breakfast so saw there was a very good coffee shop/Cafe off the High Street but not far to walk.  Had a coffee and croissant and Ben had an iced honeycomb latte at pastry.

A lady arrived with the cutest little girl and sat beside us.  Of course we got chatting and she was a mum of three girls but had started today to look after her niece's little girl, Elodie, one day a week.  She worked two days a week in the police and enjoyed her job.  I've found the locals to be so friendly and I do enjoy hearing about others lives, Ben joins in too.

The beach at Crosby is right in the town so wasn't far for us to walk to.  The reason for coming was to see the 100 statues dotted around the beach by the sculptor Anthony Gormley, called Another Place.  We had to make sure to go when the tide was out in order to see them as some are only half a body in the sand and other standing.

It was another warm day, well around 21 perfect for walking and sightseeing, we have been lucky with the weather.  It wouldn't have been the same if piddling down.

we walked quite far.  Ben got one of his white trainers soaked jumping a water channel and  they also sunk in the sand....  Typical boy running and leaping around. HAHA

Lots of ferry activity on the water.  It was a lovely walk.  We didn't see them all, there was no need to.  We met a few dogs of various shapes and sizes and a chat with their owners.  Although there was three Pugs came snorting and running up to us and one decided to do a Jobbie right next to me!  I shouted to the woman owner that her dog was doing a Jobbie as she wasn't for coming andpicking it up so after me pointing it out she came reluctantly...  YUK it was huge for a wee dog.  They certainly aren't the bonniest of dogs, but am sure owners of them think them cute (I don't).  That continual snorting and snuffling would drive me bonkers.

We walked back to the town and got something to eat for lunch then a train back to our Sandhills station.  Our hotel is near the new Everton ground which isn't quite finished we were told but will be ready for the coming season.

We decided to go back to the hotel as we were close and had a refreshment.

Ben had money burning a hole in his pocket so off we went on that walk into the city again.  Down past the back of the Three Graces and along to Liverpool One a big outdoor shopping centre.  I said to him to carry on and get what he wanted and I waited at the seats near John Lewis.  I met up with him at Urban Outfitters where he bought a pair of shorts.

Time for tea, we were hungry, all that sea air.  We had a nice meal and then an Uber back.  I was already at 22k steps for that day so got an Uber back to the hotel.
