Disappointing

I made this courgette, cucumber, almond and basil soup which was in a recent Feast but it turned out very grainy compared to the Guardian photo.

My recent X-Ray showed no further deterioration in the knee. I have been telling them since March the pain is different from the arthritis pain but they won’t listen. (No doubt the private soft tissue chap yesterday is correct and it is tendonitis and a pulled hamstring. )

Although I was 16th in the queue when I rang the appointments people I persisted and found they’d got a cancellation in 2 weeks in Morpeth so I’ll see someone from
Orthopaedics then. Hopefully there will be a diagnosis though I suppose they don’t deal with soft tissue issues.

Unfortunately today I didn’t get a walk as during the night I suffered cramp in the affected leg so now it’s crippling me again. I’ve done the exercises and stotted about with the stick.

It’s been a hot day - too hot till 5 to sit outside. I’m still ploughing on with Butter - it’s quirky and funny but too long for me.

The man came to let me see the current colour for the bathroom blinds - it looks pretty much the same as the one they no longer make so we are ordering it. Chris is coming to fit my grab rail in the shower tomorrow.

Son-in-law Phil has ordered us the box set of Heimat so when we feel strong enough we have good TV - that and Battle for Algiers. All I feel up to is Miss Marple. I haven’t resorted to Midsommer Murders though.
