Hamnavoe Bød
A beautiful sunny morning, clouded over by the afternoon, especially up north, then showers and wind tonight. Warm all day.
A day working on my own. I had a few bins to collect down the south mainland, then headed up north to collect Voar Redd Up bruck from Tangwick. After lunch, it was oil waste collections from eateries around Lerwick. Walkies with Sammy after work, popped by Madeline's. Working in the shop this evening, another busy shift. Feet up before bed.
A fine spot for my lunch break, and a great view. This old bød in the foreground was built back in 1840, and was used for accommodation upstairs, while the ground floor was used as a store, sometimes bøds might have had a shop in the store too. Sadly when the building became unoccupied, the laird removed the old stone flag roof, to avoid paying taxes on the property, that must have been 100 years ago. Used now as a sheep krö (pen), at least the sheep can enjoy the fantastic views. The old Hamnavoe Bød, Eshaness.
