Mr K's Aeonium

Today's the day ..................... for sad news

Anything that happened today has been over-shadowed by the very sad news of the sudden death of my friend and fellow blipper, Knottman2 - or as I liked to call him - Mr K.

We got to know each other via a mutual (blipping) friend and eventually got to meet him and Mrs K in person.  I remember the occasion well.  Will and I were in Arnside when I noticed a lady and a man, walking along on the pavement.  I knew right away that this must be the famous Knottman2  because I had been following his daily journal and exchanging comments with him for some time.  I got out of the car, walked over to him and asked, "By any chance, would you be Knottman2?"  And the rest, they say - is history.

The above is one of his home-grown aeoniums, that he kindly gave me as a present when he and Mrs K called in last year.  I forgot to show it to him recently when they called again - and to let him see how well it was doing.  

He was such a warm and friendly person, wise and inspirational - and I shall miss my daily contact with him via blipfoto more than words can say .........................
