An ordinary life....

Three wows...

I was hoping when I woke up this morning that my shoulder pain would have gone but nope, still there.

Phoned the health centre as soon as it turned 8am and got through first time.  Explained the situation and was told to go to the Health Centre at 9am to be seen.  First wow of the day!

I saw a lovely locum GP, Dr M, who examined my shoulder, back and arm thoroughly and says I have an inflamed rotator cuff.  He also thinks I have a pinched nerve and that's causing the pain down my arm.  He has prescribed a painkiller that targets nerve pain specifically that I've to take at night as the main side effect is drowsiness.  He also suggested physiotherapy might help and said to ask the receptionist about on my way out.

I spoke to the receptionist and she has made me an appointment with the physio at the Health Centre for a week today.  Second wow of the day!

Back home and D was a star and made the best French toast for Andrew, and and himself.

Alan, Andrew and Blake headed out for lunch and after D and I had our lunch, I went back upstairs to sit on the bed and prop my arm up with pillows.  It's the only way I can get the nerve pain to reduce.  Of course I fell asleep for an hour and it was a welcome break from the horrible gnawing pain.

Alan, Andrew and Blake arrived back.  They'd had a lovely afternoon.  Pub lunch then some shopping.  Andrew bought himself a pair of shorts as he hadn't realised the weather would be so warm and had only brought jeans with him.

I made the Hairy Dieter's Spanish Chicken for dinner and it was lovely.  Enough left over to have tomorrow night with salad.

Quiet evening, well as quiet as it gets when Andrew's here :-)  He's started preparing a list of food he wants me to add to the Tesco delivery for our holiday in October.  He likes to be organised! :-)

Noticed the setting sun hitting the Japanese maple.  The third wow of the day :-)

Heading to bed now and will take the new painkiller.  Here's hoping it works.
