Rooster

At teatime, I saw this butterfly land in my pittosporum tree and close its wings.  A couple of hours later it was still in the same position and remained so as the light faded.  This was obviously its chosen roost for the night.

The butterfly is a small white, Pieris rapae.

This tree always attracts white butterflies that often park there temporarily during the day but this is the first time I have confirmed that they roost there too.
