Snapping the snappers
What a gorgeous day to walk up Arthur's Seat! Thousands of people agreed (see the queue of people behind L&L in this photograph). By that stage we had picked our way to the top, amidst far too many people, and then headed down to the grassy area below the top where we found a place to sit for a while and enjoy the view and entertain the baby, who was being very sweet. Lots of pictures were taken. It's the modern way. On the way up, several people said patronising things to me....to which I made suitably spiky responses about actually living in the city....
As we descended we faced the decision of going left back towards Holyrood or right past Dunsapie Loch and down to Duddingston Village. We chose the latter, getting a table outside at the Sheep's Heid for a perfect post walk lunch. Afterwards, they ambled back to their AirBnb and I found my way to a bus stop and took two buses back to Leith, via the thronging centre of the city.
That was it for me. I went no further than the fridge for a cold beer. They went shopping later on, although L confessed to me that they were exhausted in the evening. Too much fresh air. Too much walking. Too much sunshine (fancy that, in Edinburgh!).
