What I've Done

Moss Force upper falls

I've photographed Moss Force many times, but always the lower section of the falls. Today, whilst Deb went running over mountains, after dropping her off at Buttermere, I came back to the falls, which were getting some lovely light, and scrambled up to the higher section. Not easy to access, as the rocks were very smooth and slippery, but worth it when I got there.

It was extremely bright, and the wind was lifting the water off the falls. However, a little stopper (6-stop) and a grad helped give me a 1-2 second exposure and control the brightness of the upper section which was in full sunlight, and the sky, which was bright as the sun was (just) out of shot top left.

I stayed there for over an hour, shooting little details as well as the whole falls. I'll certainly be paying a return visit.
